Medals earned at the first race of the season

On Saturday, June 7, 2025 Bucks Dragon Boat raced its first race at the Independence Dragon Boat Regatta in Philadelphia, PA. Bucks was represented well with over 130 men & women from Freedom, Fury, Fearless, and Fusion. With 113 teams in attendance this year, the IDBR is the largest one-day dragon boat regatta in the country. Under cloudy skies and intermittent rain, our Bucks teams took to the water and raced their absolute best on the Schuylkill River Race Course. Battling teams from all over, it was exciting to watch newbies and veterans alike hammer it out for 500M! And while we love race day for the fun, camaraderie, excitement and personal wins, the hardware earned was the icing on the cake!

After the races were completed and celebrations concluded, we are happy to announce the following medals earned from the 2025 Independence Dragon Boat Regatta:

Freedom Women: Bronze Medal in the Women’s B Major Final

Fusion Open: Silver Medal in the Open Major Final

Fusion Women: Gold Medal in the Women’s Grand A Major Final (and a new PR!)
